An acoustic box, built to isolate the sound of an explosion caused by a chemical reaction with a balloon. The box is connected to a computerized audio/visual recording system. All of the recordings were edited into a documentary video that revealed the successful and failed experiments that took place in the box.
Mixed media with computer, sound blocking materials, Plexiglas, webcams, microphone, latex and chemicals
Dimensions variable.
Acoustic box: 27.5 x 24 x 21.25 inches
I covered a balloon with a certain chemical compound. During the process, the liquid material changed, solidified, and when done correctly, the balloon would pop, followed by a shrinking process and accompanied by sound.
